Students' Achievements:
I always fight side by side with my graduate and undergraduate mentees in the frontline of those research projects that I truly love, from visible system build-up, physical data collection, to cyber programming and verbal project deliverables. I am very fortunate to work with and dedicate to the following self-motivated students with excellent working ethics:

Hobbies (& Easter Eggs):
Despite fundamentally a tech geek, he played, for decades, basketball, soccer, table tennis, swimming, and cycling. He was very fortunate to witness the best years of Kobe Bryant (LA Lakers) and Thierry Henry (Arsenal FC). He won the silver/bronze medals in 1500m running in the middle school contests, and he won several city-level K-12 choral awards in the primary, middle, and high schools. He also has deep part-time research interests in History of Japanese Anime (from Tezuka Osamu, Hayao Miyazaki to Koyoharu Gotouge) and Robotics in Science Fiction (from Okawara Kunio to Shoji Kawamori). He was a fan of Gandamu Shirizu and Ginga Eiyu Densetsu, in addition to enjoying aviation models and Nikon D5500 for years. He speaks Cantonese, Mandarin, and some Japanese, and a bit of Hakkanese, Teochew, and Korean, and he is actively learning Spanish. He successfully slimmed down 20lbs in Fall 2023, for the ones he cares and devotes to. He is a father of one.
Easter Eggs:
He was drafted through the HKUST CSE Postgradudate Student Early Recruiting Program (2011 Fall Shanghai Round). He has extensive experience in a startup-centered research and development (R&D) environment with Compathnion Ltd. in 2013-2016. He is also a product from multiple innovation hubs under the Qiming College (啟明學院), HUST, and worked as an undergraduate researcher with the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in the WPI-HUST Collaborative Senior Design Project.
He was the lead Human-Robot Interaction programmer (2009--2011) of the HUST Robotics Team that leads to 3 Gold, 3 Silver, and 1 Bronze National Competition (全國機器人大賽) Medals in Humanoid Robots plus 1 University Competition Championship (校機器人大賽自動組) in Self-Driving Robots. The Team as a whole designed, manufactured, assembled, developed and programmed the humanoid robots as well as the autonomous driving robot cars on our own.
He graduated (with the highest honors) from the Guangdong Province Innovation Class (省創新人才實驗班) in Physics/Maths of the Affiliated High School of South China Normal University in 06/2008. He was ranked No. 2 (2/~30k) in the Mock Exam 1 of Higher Education Entrance Examination in Guangzhou in 2008 (廣州市高考第一次模擬統考物理科總分全市第二名;語數英物+理科基礎; 廣州市天河區2005中考 4/~15k).
